O3b mPOWER in the Galapagos Islands (Part 2): Deep Dive

Head several metres under the Pacific Ocean off the island of Santa Cruz and you’ll find hammerhead sharks, eagle rays, dolphins and plenty more. But above sea, sitting at her desk in her dive school, Alice Bartlett needs a solid internet connection via satellites in space to keep her business afloat.

These days tourists want to book in advance, sort paperwork and licensing before they set off on the holiday of a lifetime. Plus, in the world of TripAdvisor reviews and social media - Academy Bay Diving has to stay competitive online as much as it does on the street. Then, of course - there’s the implication of safety. If something was to go wrong out at sea, satellite connection will be the first port of call for help.

Satellite Stories host Kristina Smith-Meyer visits Alice and her team of divers in the Galapagos Islands to explore the impact O3b mPOWER will have on everyday businesses and lives.

The Podcast Coach: Helping ordinary people share extraordinary stories.

Aged 10, I dreamt of having my own production company called A Small Furry Bear. I presented radio shows on a ghetto blaster in my bedroom with my little brother. Now, some 20+ years later, as a podcast coach and presenter - that day dream has become an everyday reality.

Question is, how can we make your dreams of presenting a podcast come true as well?
